What is a miniature schnauzer?​

The miniature schnauzer is a bold and active little dog that can trace its origins back to 15th century Germany and a cross-breed between poodles and Affenpinschers.

How much exercise does a miniature schnauzer need?​

Alert and lively, Miniature Schnauzers require regular daily exercise to maintain their mental and physical health. They have a medium energy level and can easily adapt to city or country living. The breed benefits from having a fenced area where they can run and chase a ball safely and enjoy playtime with their owner.
What kind of health problems do Miniature Schnauzers have?
HEALTH. The Miniature Schnauzer is generally a healthy breed. There are a few conditions that the breed can be prone to, including cataracts, hyperlipidemia, pancreatitis, liver shunts, and urinary stones. Responsible breeders will have breeding stock tested for health issues that can affect the breed.

Can you get a midnight Schnauzer from another breeder?

How big do black and silver Schnauzer puppies get?​

All you have to do is enjoy your new fur baby. We raise purebred black, black & silver, and salt & pepper puppies who grow to be 12-18 pounds as adults. We are an Arkansas Miniature Schnauzer breeder, and since 1991 we have been dedicated to raising the breed standard for the Miniature Schnauzer. This is our only breed.
Schnauzers are prone to health issues, including diabetes, cataracts, and urinary stones. How much should an 8-12 week old schnauzer eat?​

An 8-12 weeks old schnauzer fur baby needs to eat a small amount of food at least 3-4 times a day. Here at TruDog, we believe raw food is better than overheated and processed kibble. Raw food ingredients are simple and very good for their health. Besides, it keeps their coat nice and shiny. It also keeps them happy and satisfied.
How often should a schnauzer be groomed?
Schnauzer breeds require a fair amount of grooming. With a wire brush, you should comb his coat daily. They also need to be bathed with a high-quality shampoo designed for dogs at least once a month. Schnauzers also usually need to have their coat clipped at least three times a year.

Are Miniature Schnauzers introverts or extroverts?
The problem is that it’s not very helpful to speak generally about this breed, because individual Miniature Schnauzers vary so much in personality. You’ll find some who are serious, some who are goofballs, some who are extroverted, some who are introverted.

Can a Miniature Schnauzer live in a city apartment?​

Miniature Schnauzers are adaptable. They can be just as happy living in a city apartment getting a couple of walks each day as they can be on a country estate with lots of room to run. Because the breed is somewhat fearless around other dogs, it is important to introduce a Miniature Schnauzer to other dogs while still a puppy.

Are Miniature Schnauzers prone to eye problems?​

Unfortunately, the breed is predisposed to eye issues, so it’s important to ascertain that your puppy’s parents both have certification through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals’ Eye Certification Registry. Cataracts can plague miniature schnauzers, but surgery often can restore vision.
What is entropion in Miniature Schnauzers?
Entropion, a condition in which the eyelid inverts and lashes rub against the cornea, also requires surgical correction. Certain skin issues are so common in miniature schnauzers that they’ve earned the nickname “schnauzer bumps.” This is basically schnauzer acne, with blackheads erupting along the dog’s back or other areas.
Why does my Miniature Schnauzer smell so bad?
