Arthur Conan Doyle’un yarattığı Britanyalı hayalî dedektif 6 Ocak 1854’te Londra’da doğmuştur. İlk hikâyesi olan Kızıl Dosya 1887 yılında gazetede basılmaya başlanmıştır. Sherlock Holmes, dedektif kahramanlar içerisinde belki de en meşhur olanıdır.

Who was Dr Mortimer and what did he do?​

Dr James Mortimer, M.R.C.S. was a British physician and client of Sherlock Holmes. After working for two years in a junior capacity at Charing Cross Hospital, he married and moved to Dartmoor to set up a country practice, where he made the acquaintance of the Baskerville family of Baskerville Hall.

Why does Mortimer think Holmes must have a singular skull?​

Since Holmes is such a singular character, Mortimer is sure he must have a singular skull. Mortimer was a friend of Sir Charles Baskerville and is the reason that Holmes and Dr. Watson are first brought into the case. He is observant and scientific, discovering unnoticed footprints left behind by a dog at the scene of Sir Charles’ death.
